CB antenna mount

I have a 2000 Southwind 34N. Where would be the best place to mount a CB antenna on the coach. I don't really want to drill any holes in the roof.
Suggestions, please.
I don't know much about ground plane or any of the technical stuff. So, just location suggestions will be sufficient info.

I was looking at CB's someone who has years of experience (I was born when CB use was waning) should be able to answer better. I believe you can use something called a 3-way mount or a side mount that attaches to the side of your home. The 3-way is a metal bracket and the side mount has a cleaner appearance. The dealer told me Firestick makes the best antenna. Someone should have your answer (and then someone else will probably be able to give more information) within a day.

Sort of funny. I had just gotten my drivers license when the CB craze was wild (mid '70s). I used to know what was available but have since lost track.

Isnt thee a through the window type that is similar to the old car phone antennas? I have the same problem not wanting to drill through the roof or side and have not been able to find such an antenna.

Probably not always the case, but the window mount I had worked much better than the last mirror mount I had. Do not have a CB in current rig.Power-Max Through-Glass Moblie CB Antenna - Midland Radio 18-258 - CBs - Camping World

I know where you at, less drilling is better, but there is a solution. Firestik makes a M2 mount just like the big rigs use. If you will notice most all of the 18 wheel semi cabs are fiberglass today. Look behind the cab area up close to the top and you will see a black mount with no visible sign of wires. I ordered that from Firestik and only drilled two (2) small holes behind the windshield post in front of drivers door, maybe a foot below the roof line. The inside connections are very easy, just removing the left windshield trim which is a perfect place to run the coax.
I know you did not want to know the basics, but you will need a Firestik 3 foot No Ground Plane antenna, White or Black. It has a special coax for fiberglass. Trust me, this makes a really neat installation, and you can un-screw the antenna for storage very easy. Just Google it and they know what you need. JMHO, and good luck.

Be sure you want a CB before you install one, borrow a hand held one and drive with it for awhile. The chatter on it going down the highway may kill your desire.

I drove truck for many years and am happy to be without it.

Hello there guys! I am a ham these days but I used CB for many years. The side mount is a very good way to go - it can be mounted on the "post" behind the door and makes for a very clean appearance. We all are reluctant to drill through the roof, but it is extremely easy to do and it will not leak if done with only a minimum of care. I think the most important criteria is how you can best route the coax from outside to your transceiver.
