CB radio antenna

All post's regarding this was too old to respond to, so does anyone have any information on what kind and how to install a new antenna without drilling into the body. Thanks Tom

Hi tbwhit,
The qualifier for your problem is not drilling through the body. I'd like to provide some suggestions, but can not because of this limitation. I've had a CB in a coach since 1978. Also, I've installed dozens of CB antennas, always drilling a hole in the body or roof (customer's choice). I've never had a leak in my or any coach I've made the install on. If you eliminate this limitation and would like some suggestions, PM me. I do not usually monitor this owners forum.

Can you help us understand why you don't want a hole drilled in the coach?
thanks,

The best CB antenna for an RV is the Firestix NGP . Use a side mount with a spring. A 3 to 4' long with 1/2 of the antenna above the roof.

CATALOG Main Page (Frame Setup)

I don;t think you will find a decent antenna that does not require drilling into the body.

Hi Tom,

As Gary stated, I believe you really would need to drill baby drill.
Do you know that you have a dual radio/cb antenna already built into your rig? If not, the connector is bundled under and around mid driver dash area. Get a mirror and look for it.

My buddy bought an antenna at a truck stop that sticks on a window, there are 2 pieces that stick on the glass, one in and one out. The signal travels well through the glass and the antenna works very well. It looks like an oversized cell phone antenna and costs about $40.00 here in Ontario. Good for a couple of miles he says.

I installed mine on the ladder out back and it works fine. Used one of those mirror mounts you see truckers use. I just did it without having to explain to anyone that that's just what I wanted to do.
