I am brand new to this forum. I am the proud owner of a 1979 southwind that I bought a couple of weeks ago at an estate auction.
The motorhome is in remarkable shape except for the ceiling. The roof leaked and the ceiling is sagging and has come loose.
I have been in the residential remodeling business for many years, but before I tear into this ceiling, I would like to know what to expect. There are no obvious fasteners holding the panels to the ceiling. It gives me the impression that the panels were glued to the insulation panels which were also glued to the underside of the roof.

Dropping the plastic trim from around a roof vent should give you a look see at the ceiling/ roof structure, may have small roof trusses up there and give you measurement of spacing and ideas of the attachments.
Was the roof leak properly fixed?

Yes, I repaired it with flexseal.
From what I see under the damaged places, there are no fasteners, even to the metal "studs" if you will, that run from side to side.
I appreciate that very much!
Whatever I find I can deal with, just don't really like going in blind.
Hopefully it isn't going to take a complete remodel. The rest of the motorhome is in very good condition.
I haven't actually had time to repair it yet. I just had my hip replaced.
BUT, I am going to use a 1/4" bead board panelling I have left over from a remodel project.
