To follow up on my previous post, I'm not sure a certified gauge is necessary, just an accurate one. I use what I have because it's accurate, it's been in my box since 1983, I am a firm believer in buying good, quality tools that will last. I hate buying things twice, really rubs my fur the wrong way. I have tools, in my box from when I was 12 years old, some that were passed down from my dad,who knows how old they are, good quality. And no I never, ever buy tools from harbor freight, all my stuff gets used regularly and MUST LAST. Even something as simple as the garden hose reel at the house, $220.00 COX reel, hold 100 ft of hose, 20 years old, still perfect. There is still quality stuff out there, you just have to pay for it, and it won't need to be replaced constantly, tire gauge is no different. jmho Happy new year everyone, drive safe.
