Changing dometic refrigerator

I was surprised to be told the dinette window must be removed before the 2 door dometic refer can be changed and Good Sam won't cover the 3 hours additional labor. Has anybody gone through this? The unit is 1" wider than the door. Thanks.

Apparently you have a service warranty written by Good Sam. IMHO... if you are replacing the frig with the exact same model then Good Sam should pay to remove the window as the frig can't be brought into the coach via the door. However, what if the installers are just lazy and don't want to take the doors off the frig that would allow it to fit through the door?

3 hours of additional labor to remove the dinette window?

Unless there's something very special about your dinette window they should be able to take it out and put it back in in 30 minutes. That is really not a hard job.

I had my Dometic removed earlier this year (replaced with a residential). As I recall they charged me an hour for both removal and re-installation of the dinette window.

If it were a windshield I could see it... But a side window? That seems excessive.

When service centers do work for extended warranty providers the bill is padded. This is done because the warranty companies have labour times that are unattainable. It's all a game! But Good Sam is always looking for a reason to not pay. Of all the companies they are not only one of the most expensive they are one of the worst when it comes to approving repairs.

It shouldn't be 30 mins to R&R a window, unless you just don't clean the old sealer off. 1-1.5hr depending on the sealant and all.
I'm with TexNet. There are things that can be taken loose/off to make things fit.
