Changing hydraulic filter

Just want to know how to stop hydraulic fluid from keeping coming out once filter is loose? I have a 2003 American Dream. Tried changing made a heck of a mess!!

Spin on, or elements inside the reservoir? Some filters you can use a shop vac to keep fluid from leaking out, but usually it's just try to change it as fast as possible.
