Clean CAC - 2002 Expedition

Any suggestions how to access the CAC (behind the radiator) for cleaning? It looks like I should "access from the inside of the RV", but in my Expedition that access looks difficult: the engine is under the bed, and it appears to be covered by a heavy plastic cover that has no obvious extraction procedure. Has anybody cleaned the radiator/CAC in an old Fleetwood DP, and how did you access the front side of the radiator?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Dan

I went thru this a couple of years ago on mine. You probably have the best access thru your closet floor. On mine that put me directly on top of the fan shroud. Like several on this forum I cut a port hole in the shroud and then made a cover to bolt down on it when not in use. You can get good access to the CAC. Even if you don't want to cut the hole, Walmart sales a spraying wand in the garden section that works really well. It is made out of aluminium, is adjustable in length, and the head is fully adjustable as well. Wash with straight hot water if you can. I ran a hose in the window and used the connection behind the washing machine. Spray it down first with simple green or dawn. You'll really see the gunk come out using the hot water.

Unfortunately my access is only from under the bed. Not sure I can lift the engine cover, and if I can get it up, not sure where to put it...

I have a 2003 Expedition and the closet floor unscrews to give access to the CAC.
I also cut a opening in the shroud top for access for cleaning.
