Cruise control works intermittently

have a 2001 fleetwood storm workhorse chassis.
7.4L BBC.

when using the cruise control, if i turn it on an try to set my speed, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. it does the same thing if i had it on cruise, hit the brakes, then try to resume previous speed.

just wondering if any folks have experienced this and what it took to fix it?

one other engine related, is i get an intermittent DTC light coming on. always the same thing. Says may be MAP. the map does not have many miles on it.

thanks for looking!

Your brake pedal cruise control switch may need adjusting. Try lifting the brake pedal with your left foot as you try to set the cruise control.
