My coolant fill is on the left hand side of the engine compartment. Yours may be different as I have a Gillig chassis

Yes, you can spin the coolant filter off and put the new one on without shutting the valve off. My has self purge lines (the orange lines).

You will want to shield the alternator as it is directly below the filter

Yes.....

Some say filter, some say conditioner, the spin on coolant conditioner is not a filter, as meaning it doesn't catch contamination, it contains a "pill" that desolve over time to maintain the SCA level in coolant needed to prevent Engine damage from pitted liners etc....

Once engine runs a bit recheck coolant level.

Glenn, on our Spartan Cummins, the condiontioner is engine mounted right next to oil filter..... below altnatenator and coolant expansion tank is on right side

Interesting, you can just see the coolant filter/conditioner below the black hose.

Do you have the air purge lines?

Nope, I'll get you a pic tomorrow...the conditioner is mounted vertical, beside oil filter.
