Cutting the cord with my 2000 Eagle

Well I think it is almost time to look for a newer RV.

Wife has been talking about an RV with 3 or 4 slides -- (two in front for a wider seating area mostly) -- for a while and we looked a bit last year.

We are now looking more seriously, so I expect our 2000 Eagle to be seeking a new perch soon.

Dale

If your Eagle is like mine, now that I've repaired, replaced or rebuilt da*m near every component on it, it'll make somebody a very nice reliable coach!

My Eagle has been and is certainly reliable. It is the appearance issues that are
coming to the forefront along with the desire for more slides.

My clearcoat is flaking off and I question the value in a full repaint. I have always had several areas of panel delam from previous leaks as well as I think this coach was probably one with poor panel layer adhesion. I have some basement rust that others have dealt with on here. Fortunately not as bad as some.

As you mention I have done a hundred things on it though, and would not hesitate to drive it across country today.

I have looked at three for four newer Eagles and Traditions (2005-2007) and the interior is just a bit dated for me. They had a lot of blacks and were trying to be very upscale. We would like a little more modern, less heavy look.

take care --- Dale

Mackwrench === some of the Rv's I am looking at, Revolutuion, and Country Coach in the 2005-2007 timeframe have Cat C-9 400HP (pre DEF)-- any thoughts.

I have totally mixed emotions.
I Like the my Cummins and am sorta familiar with it, but should i really decline a CAT?

I have several friends with Country Coaches with CAT's and none have any complaints. Of course these are not mechanical/technical DIY people.

I am sure I can research a hundred posts on CAT vs Cummins on here.
Was just curious on your thoughts

thx Dale

I'm very good with the C9 CAT and wouldn't think nothing about one make over the other.....the years your looking at are the most desirable....$$

Parts from CAT are somewhat pricey, but parts from from Cummins are too...in my area the CAT dealer network is strong

thanks for the reply -- your thoughts pretty much mirror my next door neighbor who is a retired diesel mechanic.

My short list (not too short really) and all in the 2005-2008 range
in no particular order.

Fleetwood Revolution
Tiffin Allegro Bus
Newmar Dutchstar
Country Coach (Allure/Inspire)

it would be 40 ft -- 3 or 4 slides - side radiator
all are 400HP, some are Spartan, one is Freightliner with IFS, the other is their own Dynomax (I think)

very similar actually.

talk soon --- Dale
