Dash A/C not blowing cold air

We have a 2019 Fleetwood Discovery LXE and our dash a/c has never worked right. We took it to a dealer to have our punch list worked on and they checked it out and said their shop was 85 degrees and the a/c was blowing at 60 degrees, which they said is working right. One of the vents is around 10” from my knee and my knee doesn’t get cold.

Our last MH was a 2016 Thor ACE and even when driving in the Deep South in the summer we would have to put our a/c on low because it was cold, same with our toad, have the fan set on the lowest setting so we don’t get to cold.

Is this because it’s a 40’ DP and can only expect cool air instead of cold air?

Next time you are using the AC, open the front hood and feel the input and output hoses that go into the heating/cooling box. One will likely be hot, the other noticeably cooler. If they are both hot, you probably have hot heater core water leaking by the bypass valve. That causes hot air to be mixed with the cold air coming from the AC.

If the bypass isn't working right, it could be the valve, or it could be the air hose that controls it has a leak, or the air comfort control on the dash is bad. You can always have the water flow turned off at the engine as they put gate valves there at or near the engine just for that. Or just put in a simple bypass.

They say that the AC out should be 20 degrees cooler than the Air into the AC.

Get an instant thermometer and stick it into the vent to measure.

I often measure about 45 degrees from my dash and bedroom OTA AC system with the windows and door closed, so that experience differs from what "they" say.

However, that 45 degrees out of several small vents is competing with the huge windshields and volume of space heated by the Sun.......

Look inside the dash where the HVAC box is located and see if it is an Aurora unit. If it is, it's most likely your problem.
Nearly everything except this box has been replaced on my unit and it still works as bad as it did when I got it. Fleetwood asked if I wanted to bring it back to the factory or go to an authorized factory service center nearer where I live, to get the box changed. I'm still researching that but will probably go to the factory in April after we return from Arizona. Will be getting a Densco or TempCon unit to put in place of the Aurora. The new unit will not be an identical fit to the hole the Aurora leaves and I think the install and finish will most likely be better at the factory.
We love the Discovery 40m but the dash A/C they installed is a POS.

If it's pumping out 25F lower than it is working. I had what I thought was a problem with mine (although I have a Bounder - gasser). The service center checked mine and said the same thing as they told you. My problem was the air infiltration at highway speed. They sealed a number of cracks/holes in the dash and it fixed it considerably. Fleetwood quality control pretty much bites. But so does quality industry wide. But the service center does a good job IMO
