DirecTV receiver settings?

Getting to go out for first trip. I have a direct TV model HR24 receiver and a Winegard RoadTrip Mission in-motion dish. When I turn on the Winegard it just keeps searching and searching. I checked the switches under the dome and the pins are set for Direct TV.

What should the receiver setting be for?

Dish Type
Switch Type
Tuner

Yes it is an HD receiver. I used it in my previous motorhome and it is listed on Winegards web site as a compatible receiver.

I use the HR24 for SD with a portable antenna. My settings are:
Dish type: 01: 18" Round
Switch type 02: Multiswitch.
You might as well try it.

I don't have the in motion but I have the RoadTrip Mission

I don't use the HR24 but the H24

I put my H24 receiver on the following

Dish Type 10: 3-LNB (18'x20")
Switch Type 02: Multiswitch

On the back of the receiver should the coax be in Sat 1 or Sat 2 input location?

I only have one input, but hey you got a 50/50 chance, try sat 1 first

I have the exact setup. Connect the coax into sat 1 input. Settings I use are dish type 2/Multiswitch/single tuner. I occasionally have to cycle switch to the dish and have it re-aim after changing settings and resetting my receivers. My receivers are also set up for whole home while at home. I have to change the setting to not share the playlist while in the camper.
Also, make sure you're not using filters on the coax.

I have a KVH TracVision LF Sat. with Direct TV. Went to dump the black water and when I returned to the same space, the Ant could not find a signal. I used all of the setting (1,2 and 4) to connect but it still can't fine the signal. I can hear the Sat. rotating (searching) and then it stops and just ticks but no signal is received. Going on top to see if Sat is twisted or jammed some how. Has this happened to anyone else?
I have a 2006 Providence.
Thanks
