Discovery 40E D-Bulb Seal on FW Slide

Hi All, I have my coach into the repair shop to replace a slide topper and wiper seal on the FW slide. The shop is telling me that my D-Bulb seal on that slide has some gaps where it is missing the seal. I asked FW if this was the way that it was manufactured, and I am not getting a straight answer. Is it normal to have gaps like this in the D-Bulb seal? I never have any leakage in that seal at all?

I have a 15 40E. I have no gaps in seals, probably poorly installed. The seal under the pass. Side 2nd largest slide was torn nearly the entire length, I repaired with 50 small screws recently.
So far 146 repairs and 85 improvements to get things right. But no majors.
