Discovery 40E Hot Water Heater

Can anyone tell me if the Discovery 40E Hot Water Heater is gas only or gas/electric? The Fleetwood site only says 16 Gallon water heater.
Thanks and I hope to be joining all of you on the road SOON.

Our Discovery is the 16-gallon heater and is electric/propane. I would suspect that is what you will get as well unless you purchase an all-electric motor home. I understand those are beginning to become more common.
We love having the option!

Is this for a brand new Discovery? Unless the coach is all electric, it should have the LP option as well as electric.

Should be both, but I've been wrong before.

Is this a brand new unit your looking at ?

40E, doesn't mean all electric does it?
I guess I'll have to go and find out. I love a mystery.

EDIT , Man I type slow , 3 others beat me in with answers and questions,
in less that 3 mins.

Thanks everyone for replying so quickly. You have answered my question but also have given me something else to think about. I didn't know that Fleetwood was coming out with all electric Motor Homes. I must admit that propane in an RV just scares me half to death. I keep having visions of all these RV's that have burned and the cause is probably almost always propane. I don't think that either my DW or myself would be able to fit through those small emergency exit windows.

Brought my washer/dryer combo in through my escape window, it's the drop to the ground that scares me.

Propane leak, engine oil leak , diesel or gas fuel leak, electrical ; 110 or 12v. All possible causes of an RV fire. Too many things to worry about.
Test your detectors regularly, service your fire extinguishers.
Be prepared, and sleep well.

Being the 40E is a newer unit, it will be propane/electric. It is actually a 10 gallon heater but they call it a 16 due to some process makes it act like the useable supply is 16. We love the option of both utilities, it fires very fast on propane, then switch over to electric.

It's both gas and electric. If you are using up all the hot water you can switch it over to gas and it heats up quickly.

The waterheater is a standard 10 gallon. The water is heated to about 160 deg. The hot water is simply "mixed" thru a mixing valve on the backside of the Hot Water Heater with cold water thus giving you more hot water.

More often than not these "mixing Valves" will stick resulting in SCALDING HOT water comming out of the faucet. Be careful.

I don't see ANY problems with Propane on an RV as long as you treat it with respect & keep an eye on the condition of the hoses & such.
People dont have a problem driving a gas rv around with 80+ gallons of fuel.
