Discovery 40G U-shaped dinette - Does it convert to a bed

I'm in the market for a Discovery 40G and am looking to confirm if the u-shaped dinette/couch converts to a bed. Strangely I have not been able to find a photo or info with internet searches and don't have access to a coach within a reasonable distance to confirm myself.

Can anyone confirm yes or no?

Thank you in advance for feedback.

Yes it does. The table lowers and there is a leather covered pad that lays on top to make it a bed.

Mine does. Palace a large piece of that spungy drawer liner to keep the cushion from sliding around. Good luck. JD

Yes it does. We are taking delivery of a 2015 40G next week. Very impressed by the coach and floor plan. You could comfortably sleep 4 adults and 3 or 4 kids in the configuration between the master, the 2 bunks the pull out bed and the dinette.

I have to admit, I would not want to be the person sleeping on that thing, but it might make a nice "pit" sofa

i ordered a 2009 Discovery 40G, took delivery in Oct 2008, and traded it in Oct 2012 for a Providence 42M. i can confirm that the Dinette/couch does convert to a bed. The table is on a pedestal that telescopes when you pull a lever under the tabletop, and the table top then lowers to line up with the surrounding cushions. A separate fill-in cushion comes with the coach and you put it on the table top to convert it to a bed.
My 40G was a good coach, a little under powered getting onto the freeways, but easily ran with the traffic on the interstates, and consistently got 8 to 9 MPG, occasionally as high as 11 mpg.

There are also four small screw on wooden legs for the table to help stabilize it as a bed. They are very easy to screw on when the table is in the raised position.

Ditto on the screw on legs. The table is much more stable on the legs. (Whoah, that last sentence sounded like something Rex Harrison would sing in My Fair Lady).

I would call it a bed in name only. We had the bed slide on our 38K fail multiple times and I ended up on the table. As someone mentioned finding a way to keep the pad from slipping off of the table is a big help. Best to give it to your kids or in-laws.

2ft x 2ft rubber pad.

It is not a terrible bed. Just not one I will sleep on. I am sure it is ok for little ones. Or a single medium sized person.

Any 40G owners know who makes the dinette and couches? Is it Villa or Flexsteel? Looking for that model to do in a different coach.
