Discovery 42A

I just recently (and kind of by accident) learned of the Discovery 42A and its rear bunkhouse option and was fascinated by the platform. While I prefer to stay under 40, even if ever so slightly (I live in California), the amount of extra bang for the length you get on that floor plan has me intrigued. Tag axle and all the goodness that goes with it, bath-and-a-half, and either a bunk bedroom or huge rear closet in the back.

Sadly, that floor plan was only made in the 2011-2013 model years, then Fleetwood dropped the tag axle Discovery model, so if I want one for my next RV (currently have a Bounder35H), I'm going to have to buy an older one. I'm OK with that, but was wondering how well they have worn.

So, if you have one - whether bunk option or not, or any Disco 42 model, for that matter - what's your opinion of it with a few years under its belt? Is it holding up well? Any problem areas I should know about? Does it have any Vacuflush toilets? One of the two in my Bounder is a Vacuflush, and I'm not fond of it. May replace it with a macerating toilet.

Are there any issues getting parts for either the coach or the chassis?

Thanks!

Funny when we bought our 40e, a 42a was next door. Didn't need bunk beds and 40e had the exact floorplan we wanted. We love ours, have had no issues (other than a few self induced) and no issues with chassis. Vacuflush in rear, mid has the normal direct dump. She serves us well, lots of power and comfy ride.
