Discovery door hard to open

My entry door is very hard to open. The latching mechanism seems to be working ok, but you have to really pull hard to open the door from the outside. I'm afraid constantly yanking on the handle so hard will eventually cause a failure. Any ideas how to make an adjustment ?

Discovery door hard to open

Adjust the door locking pin and grease it.

Lub, oil and grease everything. Our's was harder until lubed and broke-in. Diesel doors are heavier and better quality.
Also put some restraints (straps) so in forward facing winds the door in not opened forceably and beyond normal limits. 3 times happened now in 1st year.

Check the latch on the screen door. It may need to be adjusted so it isn't catching as you open the door. Mine does that occasionally.

Put some lithium grease on the latch and it helped. Also put it on amm the luggage compartment locking pins.

Is it always hard to open or just sometimes?

Sometimes.... is it possible that there is a little "flex" in the chassis when up on jacks? Either a little sinking of a jack on a soft / gravel, dirt, rock grass pad? A little let down in one of the jacks?

If so.. Do a manual level adjustment to reposition and see if that helps.

Always... see ^^^

Put a good protectant such as 303 on the seals. They stick to the door or frame at times and can add to the amount of force it takes to unstickify the door LOL

I just went through the same thing. when my screen door is latched to the door there is a small raised portion that holds the screen door handle in. Mine needed some adjustment. Works great now
