Discovery/Holiday Rambler

2017 Discovery lxe 40e
2017 holiday rambler evdeavor 40e
They look almost like twins the question then becomes which one has more for the money -better war-they are almost the same money I was set on the Discovery but then took a better look at the Holiday Rambler?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Both are pretty much the same with the exception of the roof rails on the Discovery LXEs. Which give them a more premium look though the roof rails probably increase potential water intrusion. My suggestion, pick the one you like best.

If I can ask how often do you go up to inspect/clean the roof?

Interior wise the cockpit set up is a bit different. My Discovery leveling system controls are in cabinet over entry door. It looks like the HR is on panel to right of driver. This is where all my shade controls and docking light switches are. The dash looks like the LBCU is on top of gauges which would be nice. Floor plans and features appear similar.
Exterior I like the raised trim and Girard awning on the Discovery myself.
These are just observations I see from HR brochure as I have not seen one in person

We've only owned ours for three months so the current answer is never. I suspect I'll be on the roof twice a year for cleaning and inspection. We keep our rig in covered storage when not in use so we don't get as dirty as a rig left outside.

Good luck in your search for a new RV. So far, knock on wood, our Discovery has been fairly problem free. Very happy with the purchase.

Get the one with the floor plan the D/W likes best. As for the roof, I always get up there if camped under trees. If you get pine cones, pecans, limbs, etc on your slide toppers you'll have a mess when you try to pull them in.

In California I was up there a couple of times a year.

In Florida I am up there at least once a month on average.
