Dometic Entry Door Awning

I have a 2006 Fleetwood Discovery and the power entry door awning is not working. When I push the button to extend the awning all I hear is a clicking noise in the main control box. Does anyone have any thoughts?. The large patio awning works fine. I already checked the fuse and that is ok.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide me.

Mike

I had a similar problem. As it turns out, the cover needed to be pulled out while I pressed the "extend" button. It broke free and after it opened, I lubed all the mechanics with a silicone spray. After spraying I exercised the unit several times and it now works fine.

May not be your problem but thought I would share. Good luck.

Folks,

Sorry the entry door awning is an AE Oasis Elite. Guess the main control panel is a Dometic.

Any thoughts on the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,
A friend had the same problem on their 94 Discovery 39L. As already mentioned, I used a screwdriver to pry out on the awning cover while someone else pressed the extend button. Once the awninig broke loose, I lubed everyrhing with sray liquid silicone. Since then every month we spray lube the joints. All has been fine since.

I recently had the same problem with my 06 Excursion. My awning motor had filled with water. I removed the housing screws and the bottom cap from the motor which drained the water then blew it dry with compressed air. I also drilled an 1/8 inch hole in the bottom cap to allow any future moisture to escape. After everything was dried and reassembled it worked like a charm.
