Most drawer slides(stationary part) have a small metal tab on the mechanism right at the front, the drawer rides up and over the tab, which locks it in place. This tab often gets bent inward from normal opening and closing. Use small pliers to bent it back up vertical, exercise caution you do not break it off.

To cure two heavy drawers we had problems with, we added a velcro strip up each side of the drawer face where it contacts the cabinet face when closed.

There typically is an adjustment on the drawer slides, but that said, we use a bungy cord on one particularly stubborn drawer when under way.

Another option is to get one of those 'childproof' catches with the plastic 'tab' you push down as you open the drawer. It would still come open an inch or so but not come all the way. A possibility if you are unable to adjust the drawer slides to work properly.

All of our cabinet doors and all drawers use the same auto latching system. If one is broken, the the drawer or door will open. I keep a couple spares so I can replace as needed.

Great tip! The drawer holding my Instapot will pop open when making a quick turn, even though the latch is good. Velcro is the solution!
