Dumb newbie question (possibly)...

The last couple times I've driven the MH, the DW who was following informed me that when I turned I had fresh water coming out of the fill opening (not the city water side.)

Am I doing something wrong or is that normal? I estimate that the tank was about half full.

Not a dumb question at all. I just read a thread where a guy figured he was losing as much as 1/3 of his fresh water from just that. I've had it happen too, but not more than a few gallons. Others on here will know more, but most likely your water spill is coming from the vent line for the fresh water tank. You may be able to access the vent line from the inside of the coach and insert a valve in the line. I've not had to do this though. My guess is you'll want that valve open when you're filling the tank otherwise it won't fill as fast and it may spit water back at you. I don't know what effect changes in altitude will have on the system with the valve closed though -- probably not enough to worry about. Maybe others will know.

You shouldn't corner like a race car driver!!

Check that the vent hose is still attached to the tank outlet, it might be loose or off completely. It normally shouldn't splash out like that. Worst case, you've got a crack in the tank. I wouldn't put a shut off valve in the vent line, a change in altitude could expand or contract tank to point of damaging something. I've heard of plastic tanks expanding enough to bend structure surrounding them.

Also make sure the vent hose is not bent down. It should go up above the tank, the end about as high as the fill neck.

If you have a gravity fill port, does it have a cover? It should. There may also be a small air vent opening alongside it, but that won't trickle much water.

You may also have a separate tank air vent somewhere that is spilling water. That's what retmotor is talking about.
