Eagle entry door latch

I have a 2000 American Eagle. Recently noticed when I exit the coach I need to fully pull the release latch to open the door. I may be incorrect but I don't remember having to pull this to the limit. It's a concern because I don't want think about how to get out if it doesn't work. Anyone know if there might be some adjustment? If I stand outside the latch works great from the outside. Last trip, one time on levelers, door wouldn't release, once I raised the levelers I could open the door. Took a close look at he mechanism lubed with silicon spray but can not see anything that might be adjustable. Appreciate anyone who has some thoughts on this.

Hello, I have a 2006 American Heritage and think I may have the same issue. I don't see any replies.....have you resolved this?
Thanks, Dennis

Not sure about yours, but, on my 2013 I took off the inside panel and lubed all the moving parts. Then I discovered one screw on the pillar was rubbing on the door. I filed it down flush and now all is fine.

Issue not resolved but somewhat improved by repeated lube with silicone spray
