Electric Power Gear levelers loud cracking

Could not find solution on previous posts. ELECTRIC jacks making a loud bang when retracting - but not all the time. The system seems to be working OK otherwise. Power Gear reps keep e-mailing tip sheets and manuals, but all pertain to hydraulics. My 140-1226 is electric. Fleetwood rep and dealer rep are stumped. Not excited about taking coach to repair center. Any ideas? This is on an 08 Bounder. Thanks in advance.

I think the first step is to figure out where the noise is coming from. I would get four friends to stand next to each corner of the rig and then operate the system until it made the "bang". The friend closest to it should hear it best.

I've not heard of that one. Email PG again and tell them your system is electric. Try this address info@powergearus.com .

I also have the electric Power Gear levelers. Sometimes, very few, when retracting them I get a loud bang. Has been doing this since I had the MH. It never gave me a problem so I just ignore it.
I would like to know what it is but until something breaks I guess I'll put up with it as I said only does it very occasionally.

Anybody know if my new 14 bounder has electric or hydraulic levelers? I thought they were hydraulic. I too get a bang once in a while.

I do know it is the passenger front leveler. Just doesn't do it all the time. Thanks.

Yeah, I was tempted to let it go, also, but a mobile RV guy was going to be in the park anyway working on someone else's problem, so I thought I would have him check it out. I'll let you know if he discovers anything important. Thanks.

Mine has been doing it sometimes for 7 years of full time . I check them every time they complain and never find anything. They seam to complain when they are really extended a lot and you retract them. good luck
We have had 9 years with ZERO problems.

Electric Jacks

My 2008 Discovery 40X does it occasionally, usually on an unlevel ground were one is extended a lot. Nothing ever broke so you might want to ignore it.
