I have a '06 39S Discovery and my steps won't operate. They did operate all day until we arrived at the campgrounds. The interior step switch in the coach does not light either so I am assuming that a fuse may have blow. My Discovery owners manual says there should be a fuse for the power entry step. Does anyone know where the fuse would be located in the coach? I did find fuses up front but did not find one labled entry step. I did also check the fuses under the bed as well.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide me. My steps are Kwikee.

I know you have a different coach than I but when I had problems with my steps ,same make, I found that my foot brake has a switch that controls stairs, cruise control and a power boost pump for brakes. If I lifted the foot brake up the switch would operate and open or close the steps you may have a similar switch. Some people have also had problems with the magnet that is on the door to operate the steps in or out. If you have such a switch you maybe able to adjust by turning the switch in its mount after you disconnect the plugs that are on the switch.

Thanks 007. I gave that a shot and it didn't work. I did find the fuse for the steps in the fuse box by my inverter and it was ok. I'm thinkng it must be something electrical because my interior steps light won't work.

Check the green ground wire from the step control unit to the chassis. Clean and make sure you have a good ground.

Mike, just went through this myself. If the switch isn't lighting it's either the ground or the front fuse. Call Fleetwood and they will tell you the fuse location. It's up front 2 amp I believe. Mine turned out to be a bad controller which caused the motor to burn out. Lucky the previous owner had bought an ES contract that I had transfered, only cost me the deductable. Good Luck, Mike

Thanks for everyone's assistance with my step problem. I cleaned the ground connection and the steps still didn't work. I did notice that the step motor was very hot even though it was not working so I pulled the 2 fuses for the step motor and step switch to let the motor cool off. Reinstalled the fuses and still no luck. Slammed the door and the steps began to work again. Go figure!

There is a magnetic switch on door. Sometimes they misalign. Go figure.
