I am addressing an AC problem on a 2000 Fleetwood Bounder 30z at this time that we just purchased. For me part of the problem is not having an AC wiring diagram. The culprit here was the vehicle was connected to 240 not 120.
As I walked through my problem this member #
rpaldrich pointed out that the AC has two transfer switchs.
Now I do not know all your ins and outs however there appears to be separate problems.
1. Engine batteries from your description discharge after time
2. AC dropping in and out
Engine batteries
- Generally speaking 13.5 VDC is a reading for a good battery. If less then as mentioned the battery is low.
- I suggest you charge the battery and get the batteries back to 13.5 nominal VDC.
- Then disconnect he engine batteries and see if they hold the charge
- As mentioned you may have something on that is drawing the engine batteries down.
AC drops in and out
- For me this may be my problem in that there are xfer switchs that appear to be on back of the breaker panel.
- In my case that saved the vehicle as those are 120 VAC solenoids and when 240 VAC was presented at the actuator they failed to pass AC which saved the RV and all appliances
- The dropping out of AC may be one of those actuators. As I worked to find my problem I found out that not all AC outlets went through the AC breaker panel. At this time I am in process of removing the breaker panel. From there I will be able to ascertain the connections from input to where they go on the interior by tracing the wires.
- This would be so much easier if I had AC/DC wiring diagrams
I am doing this last part because I have partial AC. At present the bedroom AC outlets and all exterior AC outlets (in luggage bays) do not work but all other AC interior outlets and appliances all work and one of the xfer switchs is most probably the reason as I could not find a GFCI for this anywhere.
Hope this helps
