Entry door gas strut

The gas strut at the bottom of my 98 tradition entry door is worthless. I called REV yesterday and they said door parts are obsolete. Pulled the shock off and measured, 26 inches extended. The only markings it says is Atwood with no part number or anything else.

I can find 26 inch struts online but the force is between 75 and 100 lbs. I am thinking that is way too much force for the entry door. I am thinking more like 10 to 20 lbs max force. Thoughts, suggestions??

We can't find the Amazon order but on our previous MH we replaced the worn strut a couple of years ago and it was 15 lb.

That is a good range. I like the lower range for my door. Buy two, one to use, one to lose.

I called REV and the lady said the part was unavailable. I had emailed them requesting the part before I had called. This morning I got an email back from them and they have the shock!!!!

So if you have an American Tradition with the single shock at the bottom of the door:

REV Part # 10089739 - STRUT, GAS 20# X 26" – in stock @ $8.05 / each (Plus shipping)
