Excursion 2008 Inverter Wiring

I was generally checking some wiring and happened to notice some wiring that looks to be a little suspect (I purchased this rig new). On my 120v fuse panel in the rear bedroom the last fuse (closest to the floor) is labelled 30A inverter. This fuse had a wire coming from it to a twist connector, one wire went to the supply side of the EMS relay no 1 and the other to the inverter. Now the strange thing here is that there was nothing wired to the switched (controlled) side of the relay.

It looks to me as though this started to be wired and then there was either an interruption or the electrical had brain freeze and changed his/her mind and wired it directly.

I have for now disconnected the wire that goes to relay no 1 as it wasn't actually doing anything. I contacted Fleetwood who were very nice on the phone but basically just e-mailed me a drawing of the fuse board (which I told them I already had) which doesn't show the wiring from the fuse board to the EMS relays.

Should the Inverter circuit be wired through the EMS relay?
If not, should there be any thing wired on relay No1 on the EMS relay board.

Any help would be greatly received.

I've never heard of wiring an inverter through the EMS, but doing so would allow the EMS to "shed" the load on the circuits that are supplied through the inverter. That typically includes the microwave as well as a number of convenience outlets, so it could be useful. I've never looked at mine, but since my Microwave is inverter-powered and (supposedly) managed by the EMS, it could be. You've got me curious now!

Inverter wiring

Hi Gary

Thanks for the post. I don't necessary want to alter the wiring I just would like Fleetwood to tell me how it should be wired as mine looks like the person who wired it didn't know what he/she was doing. As I said previously mine in half wired via the EMS and half direct. it doesn't actually work via the EMS, I'm just intrigued why there is a hot feed going to one side of a relay with nothing on the switched side.

It's very strange
