Excursion 39V engine bay cover removal

This is my first post to the Fleetwood Owners forum. We have a 2007 Excursion 39V. The top cover to the engine bay is located under the bed in rear of the coach. The cover is situated under the bed support structure and can not be removed without out first moving the framework supporting the bed. The bed iteself tilts up to reveal the AC mains breaker box and some other equipment but the structure blocking the engine bay door does not move when lifting the bed. How do I move the framework so I can lift the bay cover door to the engine? There seems to be some sort of hinging mechanism on the frame but it is not obvious how the frame articulates to move out of the way of the engine bay door. Any help on this would be very much appreciated.

Thanks all

I have been there. I have an 02 discovery and I think they are similar. While you are on your knees at the foot of the lifted bed the right side will house the ac panel and in the compartment behind your intiliteck? box. on the left should be a removable corner, just lift as the hinges or what looks like hinges will come apart. A carpeted panel will then slide off towards the pass sid of coach. On mine I need to remove the lower drawer under the tv mount but you may have your washer dryer there. Under the carpeted panel you will find four large screws, just loosen and remove the engine cover panel. To reach the front (or rear) of the engine the closet floor also lifts up. I hope this helps

Thanks so much for your helpful response. I will try to lift those hinge like features apart and remove the cover. I did not realize there was an access panel in the rear closet floor as well.

The above instructions are how our Expediton engine cover works. What you may run into is the wood floor is stuck and won't move. If you work a screwdriver under the edge of the floor facing the curb side, and gently lift up a bit, it will loosen up. That is also true of the that actual engine cover that is under the wood floor. It has a tendency to stick to the frame. You will probably have to pry it up also.

Thanks for your help with this. I will try to open that cover up this weekend.
