Extra battery cables

After owning a Discovery LXE for 2 years, I noticed while servicing, a cable hanging down near the battery compartments. It is a battery cable, and there’s another one connected to nothing, tucked up behind. I’ve never been able to get the solar panel on the roof to work. Are these ends maybe connected to the solar panel? Has anyone else experienced this with one of these units? Btw, all the batteries are properly connected as far as I can tell.

I could take a pic, but it’s just positive and negative battery cable ends not connected to any battery or anything. They lead back into a tied up bundle of cables. Without cutting the plastic ties you can’t really tell where they go. All of the batteries are hooked up 2 in sequence, and the 3 groups of 2 parallel to give a 12v circuit. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue on discovery LXE……and if those cables lead to the solar charging system.

Slate,

I'm at Costco right now, but as soon as I get home I can send you the link to all your drawings from Rev Group which should have your 12 volt chassis wiring diagrams....to include your battery and solar set up.

Slate,

Here is the webpage...just click on the 2021 LXE and then the 44H folder.

The battery diagrams are under Chassis Electrical and the solar panel is under Accessories.

Depending on the size cables, could they be for an optional assesory that was not ordered on your particular coach?

Talking

That’s ok. I knew what it meant. According to the build sheet, this unit had all the available options on it. I didn’t order it. I bought it 9 months after inservice date. I’ll have to go through these schematics when I have time. Thanks for the info!
