Fiberglass is much more wear and tear resistant and essentially never wears out.

Alpha Systems' Royal Tuff-Ply is an excellent TPO roof, but it is still fabric based. A tree branch can still do it in.

In FMCA Indio last Jan I talked to the Owner of the company in MN that replaces and repairs RV roofs. You see their ads all over. I asked which roof he thought was the best. He said he replaces more fiber glass roofs than any other, rubber or TPO. The reason - cracks! TPO has to be installed perfectly as it can shrink. Rubber is the most cost effective, repairable, with proper maintenance can last 20 years. Good luck.

I've heard of cracks in fiberglass roofs, but never had that problem in mine. If I did, I would simply paint it with an elastomeric roof coating. Much easier than replacing TPO or EPDM, I think.

But I wouldn't let an TPO (Tuf-ply) roof be a show stopper when purchasing an RV. It's an excellent material. We had a TPO roof on another coach and were quite happy with it.
