Fleetwood DAY/NIGHT Shades

To anyone who has broken day/night shades. We would like to take them out (only one in the entire coach works ) and install little blinds.

Has anyone removed them? They appear buried under the cabinet and inside the window trim covered in fabric. How do we get these things out of there?

Thanks in advance.

If you separate the pleats, you'll see the top pleat is held on by three screws.

I restrung mine last year with 80# fishing line. works smooth. I unscrewed the post that held tension so the shade would be loose, then tilted it so I could get it out from behind valance. By laying on my back and pulling down th etop pleat I could access the 3 screws. I would recommend a cordless screwdriver. Not a bad job.

The fishing line is a good idea. I'll remember that for the next time I have to restring. The restring job is not that difficult and there are directions on the web but I just replaced one string at a time so as to not screw it up.

If you want to take the valance off there are screws at the top and at the bottom of the valance.

I have found it is much easier to remove the valance first, then use the fishing line. leave xtra for adjustments. The dopes at the factory cut the line as short as they can, so you have to replace the line to make an ajustment. Robbie
