Fleetwood Factory Tour?

We'll be camping in Shipshewanna for a few days, and had hoped to make a trip down to Decatur for the Fleetwood Factory Tour on Monday, August 10th. I see that the tours are only offered at 9:00 a.m. Do we need to call ahead for reservations? What time should we plan on arriving?

Do they have anyone there that can also answer questions on repairs for a 2003 Providence? We have a "sticky shower door" issue, and a scratched tile floor issue from the slide out. Thanks!

The service center and factory tour are not at the same location they are about 5 miles apart. There was no reservation requirement for the tour and they say to arrive 15 minutes early. Tom the tour guide is very knowledgable and I bet if you ask him he can streamline getting you answers to your service questions.

We did not get there in time for the tour and did not want to stay overnight...the overnight parking at the service location left a lot to be desired. The factory is a very nice location...too bad they don't have a few overnight spots at the factory.

There is a woman who works at the parts store who is delightful! She was very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. We needed a few small items and she knew them right away...not bad since we did not know what to call the parts. I believe she said she had worked in the service department for 17 years.

She turned an errand into a very nice visit...

Tom is awesome. The service center has a standby list, and if it's a simple fix they would probably fix it same day. When I was there met a couple who came in with something simple and the tech just came out to the lot and fixed it. Good luck.

Thank you! We'll plan on arriving no later than 8:45 on August 10th for the tour. Shall I just google the exact address? Should I contact them ahead of time with the repair question?

Probably wouldn't hurt to call the service center and explain your situation.

Don't wear open toed shoes or you won't get the tour. About 2 miles of walking. Best to call first.

Granted the hookups at the service center will not rival an average park but I think they are more than sufficient for a stay lasting a day to even a week. We pulled up, plugged in and were happy to have a flat spot with electricity. Anything that might have been lacking was certainly made up by the attitude and helpful knowledge of the employees we encountered there. Whenever I am able to get there, Fleetwood will be my first choice for service. I can't wait for my next visit so I can go on the factory tour.

pointrow is right about the shoes, but exaggerating about the 2 miles. It is huge, regardless. Takes more than an hour, and it is best done while the factory is operation.

And Tom is terrific, which was emphasized by the mediocre repeat tour (led by factory supervisors and office personnel) we took while there for the June FMA rally. And the factory was not operating. Not up to Tom's standards by a long shot!

Took the tour on the 20th of July. Was very interesting and Tom made it enjoyable and brought a vast amount of knowledge since he has been there forever. I did call ahead and was told unless we were bringing a big group did not need to do so and as point row said you need to have closed toed shoes. Enjoy!

Is the parts store at the factory location? Will we get to see any new models in production?

Unless it has moved since I was there, the parts store is at a third location about a mile from the service center.
