Fleetwood Flair ( 2000 )

2000 Ford V 10 engine...I'm having problems with the overdrive blinking, service engine light, and hesitation when giving it the gas from a stop...code is 0720....found the speed sensor, camshaft sensor, etc...top of transmission housing rear entension....

Have found several comments on similar problems but can't seem to find an answer to all the similar questions..suggesting check wiring, replace sensor, gear shift wiring, and other suggestions.. But no answers saying " did this or that, and it fixed the problem "....

I'm currently shifting the auto trans. manually from low to drive 2 to drive 1 from a stop...seems to illeiviate the problem but blinking doesn't stop nor service engine light goes out...but would like to fix it permanently...anyone have similar experiences and what was done to fix...

Ford sensor part isn't that expensive but not sure thats the problem..( can't find the part though...Ford #1456573 )

I had similar issues with mine, except no engine performance. I found out (after finally taking it to the dealer) that it was the Transmission Range Sensor causing my OD light to flash on and off and the service engine soon light would remain on steady. Ford charged me a couple of hours labor because they said the sensor was hard to get to up on the transmission housing.....but I think the part was less than 100 or so...my bill was a little under 400 with the labor and all....

Other irv2 folks told me it should have cost a lot less than it did, anyway, here's a link that might help....

Hope it helps.....
