As far as a 35K goes, On both my 2014 and 2016's there is a 4" duct from the furnace that connects directly to the basement. In my cold weather experience with the Bounders once the outside temperatures reach about 40 degrees and the heat pumps stop working the furnace did a good job of heating the basement and wet bays, never a freezing issue as long as the propane furnace was running.

Just about any Class A has some plumbing exposed to outside ambient, e.g. the city inlet, the low point drains and the waste dump valves. However, since those are at end point and 99% of the system is enclosed in at least partially heated areas, freezing is rarely a problem until temperatures get severe.

I don't think you can generalize about a brand either. Fleetwood, Monaco, Holiday Rambler and American Coach are all built in the Rev Group factory and may share the same floor plans and designs. Some may have more exposure to others. and higher end models probably have better capabilities than lower end ones. Older Fleetwoods probably had different designs as well. Having owned a 2004 coach produced by the Fleetwood Corporation that had plumbing in a slideout (the entire kitchen). I can state that any exposure there was of no concern. No pipes dangling out in the air.

We have zero exposed plumbing with the slide out. Anything remotely considered "outdoor" exposure would be the low point, grey/black drains, city inlet and water pump in the wet bay.

I have a 2019 40D and we just returned from a three week trip. The coach is equipped with an Aqua Hot system that provides heat to the coach as well as the bays. We experienced several nights of very cold temps (well below freezing) and we experienced no problem.

Interesting...I am just going off what FW sent me. We will be in places where the lows will be in the teens but they said with the FWS out the water lines are exposed and susceptible to freezing.

I think it depends on what is on the full wall slide. On the 40G, there is no plumbing on the fws - the kitchen is on the opposite side.

That is correct...pretty sure that the freezing issue would be with the 40D only.

We live in the RV full time and visit my parents in NW New Mexico during Christmas. If you take precautions the cold isn't that bad.

Last winter we got down to 9 degrees (that's Fahrenheit); this year (about a week ago) we got down to 4 degrees.

We don't use the furnace except as a last resort (temperatures inside the RV get down to about 58).

We use the fireplace and, between the drive and passenger's seats, an electric heater. We also use a small electric heater in the wet bay and in the bay where the potable water tank is located. Those heaters will keep everything unfrozen down to about 13 degrees.

Below that, I have to take an extra step to heat a water pipe that is right above the back left tires. I just put a small heater on top of the tires and the heat rising from that kept it unfrozen down to 4 degrees.

Now that we're south again and temperatures are up to 38 degrees... life is pleasant!
