Since I took out the booth dining that left no wall for the handrail. And removing the right side recliner and building a pop up TV cabinet in it's place meant there was a big hole in the floor, called entry steps. That would be real easy to step off into and break a leg.
Of course we needed those entry steps so I figured out a way to cover the steps when we were moving, or parked and not leaving the coach. I'll call it "The Trap Door".
And then open it when we need to exit or enter. Plus as I age I'm getting used to having a hand rail to steady myself as I climb the steps in and out. (Course breaking both legs and shattering both feet accelerated that need.)
So, here's "The Trap Door" mockup so far. It will have a remote control opener / closer motor drive and when up will be against a stop block so that the cover will be nice and sturdy strong.and this will give us a handrail again when it's up. When lowered we gain almost 2.5 sqft inside. No possible way we can step off in the hole when it's down.
You will notice the folding church chairs that we replaced the booth seating with.
I sawed the table into 1/3rds and made the center sections a drop leaf. (It was always more table than we needed anyway) We gained about 18 inches of floor for passing in the kitchen. We raly feed more than the 2 of us, so no need on a big table.
With the fold chairs if a grandchild ends up sleeping over with us we will set up a cot in that spot for him to sleep in.
And the TV cabinet does not have the panel or trim on it in these pictures. That is just the sub frame you see. The trim and panels will be stained and shellacked up real nice once the new floor goes down. The TV does raise and lower with the flip of a switch now!
The Trap Doors accuator has not arrived yet. Actually it did, but they sent one 1/2 the lift length it needed. So that's coming. Again!

Nice job. Here's what I did.
Got tried of getting down on hands and knees to get to the pots and pans stored under the sink so I build some drawers. Took some time since drawers are a right trapezoid.

TVs in 99 American Tradition
Thought I should share how I added a modern TV to my coach. Our master has the slide /closet. We found we never need it and the heavy doors were constantly falling off the track and banging around. It felt like a black hole.
So we took the mirrored doors out and their tracks. I built a bench in the closet that we store extra chairs, manuals, etc in. Then I added a 32” TV in the corner. I ran cable over to the original cable connection. Added a LED dome light and some USB outlets for charging phones.
In the location where the original tV was, I bought a fireplace/heater and mounted it there.
It works out really well for us. Makes the master feel bigger too.
Krikey! Just realized I don’t have pic of tv in corner.

Revolution Door latches
Hello everyone.
Just replaced all the storage locker door latches along with all new key sets on our 2007 Fleetwood Revolution LE 40E. We purchased this past November and have been replacing a lot of the original hardware, and fixing gremlins.
Our storage lockers are great but the original black hardware is chipped and faded and the lock sets are worn out where some don't lock and the ones that do, you have to move the key in and out to find the perfect position to get them to work. We had enough. Replaced all 12 latches with new replacements but in Chrome. Same latches and they are from Trimark. Love them thank I think they really shine on our black and silver coach. Trimark was awesome to work with by the way.

Brilliant use of space under the sink, may have to do the same with ours.

I just realized that I haven't as yet posted the details of how I wired the Light Bar to the Docking Light switch, installed the second set of Docking Lights, or setup the additional LED clearance lights to work correctly with the ISS switch. I tried to attach the DOCX files but the forum wouldn't let me attach them. If anyone wants those details please send me a message and I will e-mail them to you.

So 5 months out - how's is it going - I pray your healing is moving forward, the grandbabies are all healthy and doing well, your wife hasn't killed you yet and your coach is getting the care you love to give her. Great story and inspiration to keep moving forward. Continued health, and enjoy the road

Installed a backsplash in the bathroom sink area
The bathroom sink area in our 2011 Discovery 40X is quite small and the backsplash is rather dark and dull.
We wanted to add a bit of pizzazz without adding bulk or weight, so we started exploring some of the new vinyl backsplashes available from Lowes/Home Depot. These backsplashes come in easily manageable sheets under one square foot in size and adhere to the wall without having to remove the wallpaper.
The sheets overlap a little in a zig-zag pattern so that the overlap area isn’t obvious. They can be cut with scissors or a utility knife to go around wall switches.
Before cutting the vinyl, we made a heavy paper template to get the measurements correct. Once it is stuck on the wall it can be difficult to reposition so test by placing the cut vinyl on the wall before removing the backing. This will ensure that everything will fit as desired. Finish up by pressing the entire surface firmly with a towel so that all of the vinyl adheres evenly.
This was a fast, easy, inexpensive, practical, and good looking addition to our bathroom.
Had the layout of our kitchen been more conducive to this approach, we would have added this to the kitchen as well as the surface is very easy to wipe clean.

As did we on our '03 Fleetwood Revolution. Looks great, and is still up after a year or so, even behind the stove. No signs of adhesive failure. Nice product. Easy to install. We sanded the old residue off and cleaned thoroughly, and added cabinet matching wood trim over exposed edges.

Time for a Minor Face (Tail) Lift
I was looking for something simple and inexpensive that would lift my spirits while in isolation and a friend of mine suggested adding a touch of trim to the Tail Lights.
Here are the before and after images.
The trim is 1/4 inch Cowles Custom Chrome Trim available at Auto Parts stores.
A sharp looking, inexpensive, and easy upgrade!
