Fleetwood Owners Diamond Shield!!! GONE!!!

Hey Guys!,
I know there are a ton of threads about removing Diamond Shield off of the front of your coach. I don't want to post this on any general forum due to what I found out and then tried.
I called Fleetwood and found that they do not install Diamond Shield until after your paint is cured on the front of your coach. With this said, I decided I would roll the dice and try to peel my Diamond Shield off!
Important!!!
DO NOT USE any heat, steamer, softener, etc. DON'T Park It In The Sun!!!
Use your hands and that is all!!!
Get a corner anywhere and simply start peeling very slowly! You will not peel paint and the slower you go the less glue you leave behind.
I have read all the tales of woe from others here that have tried or paid so many others to remove their clear bra. I have read on here how it took 3 guys 8 hrs. Blah Blah Blah
I am here to tell you.......As God is my witness......I just removed all of my Diamond Shield in less than an hour by myself!!!!!! My coach is in my building where I keep the temp at 50 degrees all winter. After knowing what Fleetwood does for the install I took the risk and I was right! It peels right off!!

I am so happy right now that I didn't damage my paint nor did I go through hell, I simply peeled it right off!
My Paint is beautiful and I am so glad it worked!
I am going to use a little 3M adhesive remover now to remove the last little bit of glue and I will be done! Total project time......approx. 1.5 hours!
Get It Gone!!!

Congratulations Craig! It sure does look great once it is off doesn't it. Do you have plans to install a bra or are you going to go naked? We went naked on our Bounder for 55K miles and it still looked great....probably pure luck (especially since I have already chipped my windshield 4 times last year) but I'll take my chances before another Diamond Shield.

Sweet! We just bought an '07 Excursion and the diamond shield looks horrible. Been debating what to do but now I know. Thanks a million! Do you happen to have any before and after pics?

I wish there were pics also, like to see a before and after. I am debating on removing mine and having a bra installed. The only reason I want to see some pics is to compare if it is as bad as mine is, and how it looks afterward.

Hi Guys,

Mine looked dull and had stains in it. I tried everything to try and get it to look better but it was all a waste of time.
I did not take any pictures of the before but, I can tell you that it was embarassing to say the least!
The sides of my coach are beautiful, shiny, and has a very clear reflection......now the front does as well!
To answer your questions about what I am going to run on the front??.......NOTHING! LOL
I try to never tailgate or put myself in a position to catch alot of garbage.
My Theory is why make it look bad right now!
Guys....Do It! You will Love It!!!

Thanks,
Craig

Our coach is 4 months old and it look great. There has to be a way to keep it nice. Guess I check with the manufacture to see what they recommend.

I am sorry to say Barry, that if you look around on IRV2 you will see that it is time that ruins the Diamond Shield. I tried everything!
Then all of the stains, yellowing, bugs imbedded, simply ugly!!!

The best part of this is IT'S GONE!!! LOL

Am just surprised that the manufacture would continue to use product that
People have posted negative comment about.

There is no fundamental problem with Diamond Shield, with
proper maintenance and care, it will look great for many
many years and protect the paint while keeping the
coach looking great. Here is a photo of an 08 coach with
55,000 miles, and with proper care using 303 Protectant.
If you get a used vehicle with a poorly maintained anything,
it will look bad, but don't blame the product in all cases.
If I had a bad "nano-shield" on a used coach, I'd remove
as has been noted here, and then put on brand new
"Diamond Shield". I've been told that all these protective
films are the same, made by 3M, and branded by others.

I agree wholeheartly with Macandphyl. If you use 303 coupled with Rejex there will be no issues!

Craig, take a few pictures of the front of your coach, then after every trip take a few more pics. Whether you follow people close or not it is unbelievably how many paint chips you will get on the front of your coach without protection.
I have considered removing my diamond shield a few times but then I look at the front of a couple friends coaches and decide not to. One of them repainted the front of his and after a few trips there were chips. If I eventually do remove I will probably install a bra for protection.
