Fleetwood Southwind
Hello all, I'm thinking of purchasing a new Fleetwood South Wind 36L. Does anyone have any views on this model?

Popular coach. Fleetwood has a good reputation.

My 36L
I have that exact model a 13 Southwind 36L and I absolutely love my coach! I did have a rough start with the batteries but Fleetwood is amazing on their customer service and they fixed my laundry list of small items. Now that all the details have been addressed we have nothing but good things to say about our Southwind and their detail to customer service alone is worth buying any of their coachs! Good luck!

Look under lifestyle forum - there is a section for solo travelers. That might be helpful

Glad to hear!
I was glad to hear that all of you are happy with your Southwind coaches. I just bought a 2008 Southwind 35A with the Ford V10 about a month ago and drove it back from Ft. Lauderdale to St. Louis. So far we love our coach other than, driving at about 64 MPH I got less than 7 MPG. I traded in a 1995 34 1/2' Newmar Dutchstar with a Ford V8 and it got better mileage, but age was catching up with it. It still looked amazing but the repair bills were almost as much as the payments on the newer coach, even though I did a lot of the labor myself.
Is there any hope that the mileage will get a little better?

Probably not. We get anywhere from 6.5-8, but usually somewhere around 7 MPG when towing our Jeep. (The 8 is rolling downhill with a tailwind.) Our Bounder is 2 years old and our mileage has been basically the same since we bought it new.

This rv is our second FW. I do like them and won't trade because this one is all we need and no problems....tires, batteries, water pump (1), stuff like that but it runs like a hose. If we buy another it will be a FW....We looked at a 32' Southwind and really liked it.
