Form fit entry carpets for Discovery?

I was walking through some 2014 coaches last week with a buddy (none were Fleetwood's) and noticed that every one of them had perfectly custom fit carpets for the entry area. These sat atop the tile so could be removed for cleaning.

Does anyone know if we can get these for Fleetwood Discovery RV's?

I have not seen them but that does not mean they don't exist. Give FW a call talk with customer relations. They may refer you to parts? Good luck.

FWIW- We made our own ....just visit a carpet store and find a remnant you like...an exacto knife, edge binder and you're good to go! Very simple job.

What is "edge binder?"

When you cut carpet you get a rough edge which over time will fray & unravel. You can buy a sticky carpet binder tape (various colors) at Home Depot which will stop the fray and also gives the carpet a finished look.

Thanks for this! I didn't know the edge binder was commonly available!

When you're at the carpet store picking out a rem, ask them if they have a referral for someone who has a carpet edge binder. Yes you can use the tape, but if you really want the better finished edge you'll need to find someone who has one.

We have a portable one we use for making throw rugs, slide room flaps, floor mats, whatever the customer wants. It looks like a sewing machine but feeds a 3/4" - 1" fabric tape (what ever color matches best) around the edge of the carpet & stiches it onto the carpet. It takes a thicker/bigger needle to sew carpet along with a good feeder to grab the carpet. But once done it gives the carpet a professional finished look.

Before we had one, the shop we used would charge $50 - $75 for the pieces we needed for the coach. (usually the slide room flap edge, driver's floor mat & living area throw)

For our Discovery, we had it made from RVcarpetbaggers.com

They did a great job.

We purchased ours at Wade's at Lazy Days in Seffner FL just outside of Tampa. Excellent job but a bit pricey.

We bought a 4x6 door mat like you might see in stores at BJ's. Tough, rough top with a rubber edging and backing. It does not move and works great (I also put some anti-slide shelf material under it). I shortened it and cut it to fit around the dash and passenger seat (only where needed to make fit around seat post). We used to leave our shoes outside the coach and now if the weather is bad, cold or we are at a stop, we can take them off on the mat and not feel bad and the grit does not mark up the tile. It vacuums up real quick and easy and doesn't show dirt so we really like it.

Sorry... Wade has custom fitted them to our last three coaches. I wouldn't be without them. In Sept they were $300 a set for entry way and step covers.
