Fridge question

Hi all -

Still learning...
Do I understand this correctly? The Norcold 4-door in our
(soon-to-be) '06 Revolution automatically shifts from 110
to propane to shore power to whatever it needs to function?

Also,... the water... When connected to a water line I presume
the onboard pump in not needed. Correct? When boondocking
the pump is turned on?

Also,... how do you put potable water in the reservoir when the
water source is at some distance? (I know... a little at a time

Thanks!

Yes. As long as it's set for Auto, it will automatically shift to the proper supply.

Yes. There has been a time or 2 when the water pressure was low & I used the pump (had water in the fresh tank) to boost flow.

Get water before you set up camp. For example, many state parks are electric only at sites, but they have potable water stations on the loop your site is on or near the dump station. I have filled a tank using 5 gallon portable jugs, but they're VERY heavy when full & it takes FOREVER to fill a fresh tank 5 gallons at a time.

Bit more explanation. Re the refer, the default power is shore power. If you have both shore power and propane turned on, it will go to shore power...then automatically go to propane when the shore power is unplugged.

Or carry some very long hoses!

My Bounder is different then. If I have the MODE on fridge panel selected to LP, doesn't matter if I'm connected to shore power, it stays on LP. The MODE has to be AUTO before it will automatically go to propane when shore power is unplugged (& visa versa)

Correct, should have commented it must be in "auto" to work as auto.

Thanks to all and to all a Good night!

Thanks to everyone!! A little at a time I am learning
the ropes. Next March/April we will actually jump into the machine...
get our bearings... and take off in June! I think I understand the fridge deal now. But,... if you bring water from a distance in a pail, how would you actually get it into the reservoir?

Thanks!

You don't want to bring it in a pail unless you've got a way to get it in your gravity fill for the fresh tank, either a siphon or funnel. There should be a fresh tank water fill door somewhere on the side of your coach. Ours looks like below.

pump

I don't think your coach has a gravity fill. So, the answer is you would have to pump it in. A 12vdc pump hooked to your batteries with a hose connection would pump from your container into your water tank.

I found a video online of your 2006 40LE coach & it DOES have a gravity fill. See screenshot I copied below, I'm pointing to it with the red arrow. Look on the driver's side, in between the slides. It's below the fridge panel & to the right of the hot water heater panel.
