Fuel Pump

I just got a 1997 pace arrow vision it had been in storage for 4years when I got it towed home I tried to start it. the fuel pump was coming on and was loud I first thought it was just out of gas so put in 5gallons in it and tried to start it and it would not start and I couldn't hear the fuel pump at all checked everything and it looking like the tank needs to be dropped to get to the fuel pump when I crawled under it what I saw was the fuel tank is huge . so I need any info about dropping the tank if someone has done it ..

I soaked the fuel tank retaining bolts in penetrating oil for a few days and using two floor jacks, lowered the tank. Use a piece of wood on each jack to protect the tank from damage. There are fuel lines to the top of the tank as well as electrical wires. Disconnect these as the tank is carefully lowered. I did it myself but a helper would have been useful,as the one jack kept leaking down! Replace the fuel hose to your generator before putting the tank back up. The whole process is quite intuitive and the less fuel there is in the tank makes it easier to handle.

Test idea...

I rescued one that had sat for over 10 years. The fuel had vaped off leaving a roofing tar like substance. Because of the baffles, I was unable to really clean it out. While I was searching for a salvage tank, I made a makeshift tank out of a 5 gallon bucket just to see if it would run and warrant more money. Fortunately, it did and I didnít burn down the entire storage facility.

that's a great ideal I got the tank down and out it has some rust . I bought it to get the engine and trans out of it . it only shows 13k miles it and its a 1997 with the 454 vortec if I can get it running that would make feel so much better.
