Full Wall Slide

I'm interested in some of the American Coaches with full wall slides. Anything I should know about them? Are they problematic?

I like the open feel they give the coach. Specific floorplans I've seen that I like - 45D and 45M.

Thanks for any input!

We have a 2015 Revolution and love the full wall slide. We’ve never had a problem with it.

We have one on our 45B. It really opens up the interior and we haven’t had any trouble (knock on wood) with it so far. The only issue we have is the amount of water that collects on it during a heavy rainstorm. It’s hard to get it all off before bringing the slide in. Other than that, we like it.

We have a full wall slide, (same family of coaches) and no problems. The water collecting on the slide topper is a problem with the extended length.

I made a pipe hook to put on top of the topper to pull the end of the topper down to help drain the water. When you park the coach, note which end is higher and keep that end high while leveling. That will help the rain to drain off before it has a chance to pool-up and start a sag in the topper.

Also check the topper for water and if there is water pooled up, dump the levelers and either raise the front or rear jacks (depending on pitch of coach without jacks) to run the water off. Then retract the jacks and retract the slide. If you have time, let the toppers dry before retracting slides.

Full slide problem

Well, I did have a problem. I have a full slide 2013 Tradition. The problem is there is a arm that comes out of the slide side wall. This is a safety device to keep the slide locked when closed. The arm on mine would not engage completely. I opened the box that the motor in that's located in the cabinet. There is a plastic pair of arms inside that's connected to the arm and motor. Both plastic arms broke. I removed them and hand made 4 of them out of 1/8th inch aluminum. (there is another pair in the back of the slide) Works perfect now. Found out that there is allot of force on these arms and plastic didn't live up to the stress.
