Furnace Issues

Our furnace burner is kicking on and off with the blower is still going. Any ideas as to why this is happening?? Is it safe to run it this way??

Does the blower ever turn off? Once the desired temp is reached, the burner should turn off and the blower will run until the furnace cools off.

If it's an Atwood, probably a bad board do to water damage. Mine did the same thing. They have a mod to install the board differently so water does not collect under it and damage it.

The blower does shut down once it get to temp but the burner shuts off while it is getting to temp.

We replaced the board and it still does it.

Mine does this in the morning when we first started it up from a cold night.

I suspect that the thermostat shuts off the gas when it gets warm enough, but before the blower shuts off, the thermostat calls for heat again.

I believe the burner will shut off when the furnace “bonnet” (if that’s the right term) gets as hot as it’s supposed to, then it will cycle on and off until the room temperature gets up to set point. Once the room is the correct temperature the burner shuts off and the fan runs in until the bonnet is cool, then shuts off.

How full are your propane tanks and what is the outside temperature? If your not full and it's cold there may not be enough vapor pressure in the tanks to run the furnace. There was a pretty good chart in the Fleetwood Bounder manual in the propane section that explains this much better than I can.

Mine will cycle like that first thing in the morning. I can hear the burner shut down and blower will continue to run, then the burner will kick back in with maybe 30 seconds in between. Might do this two or three times before room comes to temperature. I haven't been concerned about it so far.

what is temp coming out of the vents when the furnace kicks off. Had a neighbor that found when he mitigated the turns and creases in his ducts that the temp went from 175 deg to 150 deg and the furnace kept putting out the heat.

Restricted air flow?

Propane furnaces have a thermostat in the heat exchanger chamber. It will shut off the burner when the chamber gets too hot. It could be the cabin air flow is restricted. With low air flow the chamber will overheat and shut the burner off until it cools down.
My simple furnace draws air from the space around the furnace and blows out the front. If the cabinet door is closed it draws air back from the edges of the front vent.
Try checking for restricted air flow.
