Gas shut off

Is there a shut off valve to keep the gas going to the range or stove? On my 88 bounder I was wanting to test the furnace but the gas metal sleeve's going to the burners on a couple need to be welded back on I found. So I want to test the furnace out and make sure the range or stove has no gas going to it. Thank you.
