Gas Stovetop Piezo spark ignitor dead

Hi Folks
Our spark ignitor went bad, no spark at all on 3 burners. Wiring all good. Strong Click from knob but no spark...any suggestions on where to buy the spark unit? It is held on the front of the range with 2 screws. I've found a lot of range top burner spark electrodes but not the main spark unit.

Model # ALY2280BDB Maytag/Amana 3 burner gas range.

Range burners light with match or hand lighter for barbeque grills...

Any suggestions?

Google maytag parts, search by model number. I just had to do it to get another part and the parts exploder is quite good.

I have been searching on the internet even found a site with an exploded view of the range top and it showed everything but the igniter! If you have a link please provide it.

Once I found the REAL part number for the Igniter, I found it new in stock for 1/2 the price as other "RV" stores...Sears PartsDirect.com

Someone here steered me to this on Amazon: Char-Broil Universal Electronic Igniter Kit.


I ordered it, filed out the mounting hole (a little higher than the original hole) and it works really well. It's AA battery powered and really zaps out the sparks just by pushing the button........ no snap, snap, snap; it just works. About $16.
