Discovery: Generator compartment on Discovery LXE

I have a silly question. How do you open the generator compartment on the LXE? I open the locking latch on the underside but I don't see any other latches to open the compartment. It doesn't seem to just pull open, so is there another latch beside the one that you have to reach under the MH?

Unlatch under the front, be sure latch wire is hanging down, get hold of the handle and put some muscle into the pull.

I don’t see any latch wire, just that locking latch under the coach, center that you flip to unlock. Is the wire also under the coach by the lock or is it in a different location?

The wire is part of the latch, about 3/16" stainless wire. If the latch opens but that wire doesn't unhook from the back of the latch and drop down, the slide won't come out.

Ok, now I got it. I about pulled my finger off getting it open. I guess I need to get a tool to help me open it the next time. Thanks for the help.

I’m not seeing the release cable next to the manual latch under the front of the generator.

You may not have one, depending on the year of your coach.

My latch was bent pretty bad when I had my rv towed now I can’t open my generator compartment any help would be nice
