Generator fuel supply line

This is just some info that might help ..
When my generator would not start , I started searching forums for help only to find that everyone said you had to drop the tank to replace the short piece of hose that attaches to the tank because it dries out and cracks which causes your pump to suck air instead of fuel. If you have leveling jacks this becomes a huge job. I have a 96 Bounder with the fresh water tank behind the Pass side rear wheels.

This is how I fixed the problem :
Drain your water tank and unhook all the sensor wires and slide the tank out. On the upper level of the storage compartment you measure back roughly 2.5 feet and back about 18 inches. I took my small circular trim saw set the depth to 1 1/4 inches and cut a 4"x4" access panel into the floor, the point that the hose connects to the tank is right there. I then went under the rv and cut the hard fuel line right before the fuel tank (the point it comes off the frame rail and goes above the tank). I bought 3 feet of 1/4 fuel line and reconnected .

I then used spray foam to reseal the newly made access hole.
This in my opinion is far easier than draining all your fuel, trying to bust all those rusty bolts holding your leveling jacks on and then trying to lower that huge tank all while laying on your back.

I hope this helps any of you that are having this same problem.
P.s , blow your main fuel line out before reattaching everything just incase there some junk in the line.

Excellent information & welcome to IRV2.com.
I don't know your chassis make or the Bounder model to compare my measurements.
If you go to the upper left area & click on User CP (user control panel) & then add information for your signature that will show whenever you post to IRV2.com. When you answer to a post be sure you have the check mark in the box-Show your signature. You can add as much or as little information as you wish but be sure it includes the chassis make, body name & model number.
Thanks, Dwight
