Beck: Not a mechanic here, but some basic stuff I do know:
Fuel tank: mine has to be above 1/4 tank or it shuts off fuel flow to the generator.
Fuel filter: ?
Gummy/old fuel ?
Hope this helps...maybe others will chime in. What kind of generator? How long since it was last run? You get the idea with bad fuel possibly...

Beck,
Assuming gene is tuned up, I would connect a tank and fuel line to the carb and see if it starts gene.
If it starts and runs well under load then your fuel line to the main RV fuel tank is old, cracked and will need to be replaced which usually entails dropping the tank.

An even quicker way to diagnose is to spray some starting fluid into the air intake, hit the starter button and see if it briefly springs to life. If so, it is not getting fuel or carb is plugged up. If it still doesn't fire off then there is no spark.
Best of luck!

I would steer clear of starting fluid. First, pull the fuel line off the carb, hit prime, and see if the fuel pump is putting any fuel up to the carb. Then, buy some carb/throttle body cleaner. Spray into the carb with air filter removed and see if it starts.
The biggest problem we find is bad carbs due to ethanol enhanced (lol) fuel. We also get a lot of bad fuel lines due to age as The General mentioned.

genny
Just wen through something similar on my 93 bounder. 7K onan Marqui .I disconnected fuel line and cranked it and go no flow. Tank was up but just over half full. Took it and filled it and got a little flow out of disconnected line after that but didn't seem like enough. Measured voltage going to fuel pump and was only getting 10 volts.
Called around to see if 10 volts should work it and only got a few worthwile replies but most seem to think it should. Tried hooking 12v battery directly to pump and it worked better but not great. So I figured on replacing pump. Either that or replace the generator starting circuit card. Onan wanted 240 for pump so checked around and found I could put a $40 low pressure fuel pump, 5 PSI, from internet instead.
If you need to go that route try to reuse the existing shut off solenoid to prevent gravity flow to carb when not running
Just a couple ideas
