Generator won't charge house batteries

The generator will start OK when we first take it out but once we turn it off it will not start again until I run the engine and the alternator changes the batteries back up. I think there is a fuse blown in the invertor but not sure where to look for it.

If you have an inverter/charger it will have a 200 to 300 amp fuse on the large positive cable near the house battery.
Inverters make 120 volts from batteries when not on shore or generator power. The inverter charger will need to be enabled.

If your talking about a converter/charger, that only uses shore or generator power to charge your house batteries, you will find a 50 to 60 amp fuse or auto reset breaker near the battery. You also need the battery disconnect on, so the charging gets to the battery. That may be near the door.
