Gutter extenders install

Hey our Bounder has/had the ruber gutter extenders. Think I have one left for now. Question, purchased new ones from Camco seem to be a little different setup. On inspection I notice the gutter/rail is attached with screws except for the first and last on each side which is attached with rivets. I know I can drill the rivets out to take the rail loose and remove what is left of the old extensions. U Tube shows people attaching the new ones with silicone without removing the screws or rivets. I think I would be better to remove the old one completely and put the new ones under the end of the rail, attach with a screw or rivet and seal with silicone or Dicor but am in fear of causing more problems. Ant suggestions would be appreciated. Do all Fleetwoods have rivets on each end of the rail? Thanks

I had them on my previous rig. Just clipped them on, no screws or rivets used. They stayed on till we traded the rig in.

'Clipped' how Mr D? I don't see a good way to put mine on without some sort of mechanical fastener, otherwise they'd just blow off the first time I got up to highway speed. Which of course could be something as simple as design differences in either the gutter, the extension or both.

On my Bounder I used VHB tape and caulked the top and sides. Been staying put for a year now.
If the rain comes down just right though the output lands right on the mirror for a loud constant noise.

We have short extenders that have a kinda of dowel that plugs into the front and real metal trim. the other end slides into the gutter.

I was going to replace these with much longer extenders BUT a trick is to use a wooden clothes pin. I clip it on the end of the extender. Works great But I remove before we leave.

I tried clothes pins but they blew off. I didn't want a solution where I had to get a ladder out every time I moved to install them.
