Has anyone changed their backup camera in a Bounder?

I have a 2006 Bounder that has the B/W camera. While it still works ok I would like to change it out for a Color with color monitor. I would like to mount the camera where the old one is, but don't know if they are a standard size or whatever.

Has anyone changed out there camera in the manner I am speaking of or can offer any advice on where to buy a new one etc.

Thanks !

I know The General did his 08 Bounder. Hopefully he'll pop in here or you might PM him.

B&W vs color camera

If you're going to change the camera you'll also need to change the monitor. The good folks at www.rvcams.com have everything you'll need.

I changed my monitor about a year ago but have not done the camera yet. The color camera fits exactly where the old one was in the same bracket. The monitor bracket that comes with the kit is bare metal. I painted it black to it's not quite so out of place.

Your existing wires will work and it's a very easy install. Feel free to PM me if you need more information.

What brand monitor and camera do you currently have.

Not sure, I will look at the monitor next time I go to the storage unit.

The simplest solution

Since my old monitor (and camera) were Weldex I bought this kit RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems: Replace Weldex WDRV-3467M with LCD fromRVcams.com.

The matching color camera is : RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems: Weldex Color Stationary Camera with Twist-Lock Connectors

If your cable is good and your 06 has the same stuff as mine the only think you'll seed is a can of black paint.

Good luck with it!

I changed mine out last summer on my 38n bought the system on e-bay I took the cover plate that holds the camera off and pop riveted a piece of aluminum angle to it and mounted the new camera to that on the inside I made a plate to cover the old hole and cut it out so the new led unit fit nice and sprayed it black with rubber tool coating paint made u brackets from some strap steel to hold it from the back like they did with old aftermarket dash gauges also had to cut the ends off the existing wiring and solder and shrink tube the ends that came with new camera setup wire looks factory and the Chinese camera is 1/3 the price I used a 7" backup camera sold on E-Bay the 9" would work too but you might have to make the hole in the dash bigger
